Tribhuvan University, #1 university in Nepal

Founded in 1959, Tribhuvan University (TU) is a public university located in kirtipur, kathmandu  Nepal. It is the first national institution of higher education in Nepal. The Central Administrative Office and the Central Campus of the university are located on the north eastern facade of Kirtipur, which is located five kilometers away from capital city Kathmandu . There are 40 central departments and 4 research centres in TU, and out of them 31 departments and 3 research centres are located at Kirtipur. The university at Kirtipur is spread over an area of 154.77 hectares.

The university offers  undergraduate and graduate education. More than 4,400 courses are offered, of which 500 are for intermediate-level courses (equivalent to higher secondary school), 2,079 are for undergraduate and 2,000 are for postgraduate programs. The university has 60 constituent campuses[5] and 1053 affiliated colleges throughout the country. Since it is government financed, it is less expensive than private universities like Kathmandu University, and Purwanchal University.

T U ran its programmes only through its constituent campuses before 1980. With the increasing number of students wanting higher education, it was not possible to accommodate all the students in the constituent campuses. This situation led to the establishment of colleges in the private sector because the constituent campuses alone could not meet the demand. From 1979–80, TU started providing affiliation to private colleges to conduct programmes. Across the country, 826 private colleges have received TU affiliations.

In the 2014–2015 academic session 4,05,341 students were enrolled in TU academic programmes. 1,48,141 (36.55%) students study in its 60 constituent campuses including 38 central departments, while 2,57,200 (63.45%) students study in 1053 affiliated colleges. Now it

has 7841 teaching faculty and 7413 non-teaching staff including the support staff in its constituent campuses. The number of total employees is 15254

Queen’s University Canada

Founded in 1841, Queen’s University is a private research university located in  Kingston, Ontario, Canada,
mid-way between Montreal and Toronto, and near the entrance of the Rideau Canal, a UNESCO world heritage site. It was founded by Queen Victoria. Queen's holds more than 1,400 hectares (3,500 acres) of land throughout Ontario and owns Herstmonceux Castle in East Sussex, England. Queen's is organized into ten undergraduate, graduate and professional faculties and schools.

The university offers its students a small, pedestrian-friendly campus comprising six libraries and several museums and arts centres, including the Agnes Etherington Art Centre and The Isabel Bader Centre for the Performing Arts: a $72million, 80,000-square-foot performance hall and learning space for theatre, music, film and media students The full-time undergraduate programs comprise the majority of the school's enrolment, made up of 16,339 full-time undergraduate students. In 2009 the two largest programs by enrolment were the social sciences, with 3,286 full-time and part-time students, followed by engineering, with 3,097 full-time and part-time students. The university conferred 3,232 bachelor's degrees, 153 doctoral degrees, 1,142 master's degrees, and 721 first professional degrees in 2008–2009.

Queen’s waterfront campus comprises heritage buildings made from limestone – Kingston is itself nicknamed 'Limestone City' because of the local limestone used in its construction. Its busy downtown area is a 10-minute walk away from campus, giving students easy access to all the advantages of a major city.

As the original capital city of Canada, Kingston boasts 21 National Historic Sites. It is also a major university town, home not only to Queen’s but also the Royal Military College and St. Lawrence College. The student population as a whole totals more than 30,000.

In 2013, the BBC listed Kingston as one of the top 5 university towns in the world, while personal finance website moneysense.ca ranked it as 3rd best place to live in Canada.

Admision: http://www.queensu.ca/apply
The requirements for admission differ between students from Ontario, other provinces in Canada, and international students due to the lack of uniformity in marking schemes. In 2013, 29% of applications to full-time, first-year studies were accepted. In 2014, 66 transfer students were admitted from a pool of 600 making its acceptance rate 11% for those who had attended other post-secondary institutions. The application process emphasizes the mandatory Personal Statement of Experience (PSE). The statement expresses how the applicant's personal experiences may contribute to the university. It focuses on qualifications and involvement outside of academics and is an important factor in determining admission. Several faculties require applicants to submit a supplementary essay.

Campus Life:http://www.queensu.ca/campuslife

The student body of Queen's is represented by two students' unions, the Alma Mater Society (AMS) for all undergraduate students and the Society of Graduate and Professional Students for graduate students. All accredited extracurricular organizations at Queen's fall under the jurisdiction of either the AMS, or the Society of Graduate and Professional Students.

The AMS also manages the Student Constable peer to peer security service at the university. They are responsible for ensuring the safety of patrons and staff at sanctioned events and venues across the campus, enforcing governing regulations of the AMS and uphold regulations stipulated in the Liquor Licence Act of Ontario.Student Constables do not serve as the university's primary security service as they are legally not peace officers, nor are they registered as a private security service under the Ministry of Community Safety and Correctional Services.

What is Mutual Funds?

Mutual funds are an ideal investment option.  With low investment amount alternatives, the ability to buy or sell them on any business day and a multitude of choices based on an individual's goal and investment need, investors are free to pursue their course of life while their investments earn for them.
Based on medium or long-term investment, mutual funds have the potential to generate a higher return, as you can invest on a diverse range of sectors and industries.
Mutual funds allow investors to pool in their money for a diversified selection of securities, managed by a professional fund manager. It offers an array of innovative products like fund of funds, exchange-traded funds, Fixed Maturity Plans, Sectoral Funds and many more.

Suppose you have Rs. 100 as savings in your bank today. These can buy about 10 bottles of water. Your bank offers 5% interest per annum, so by next year you will have Rs. 105 in your bank. Probably the biggest advantage for any investor is the low cost of investment that mutual funds offer, as compared to investing directly in capital markets. Most stock options require significant capital, which may not be possible for young investors who are just starting out.

However, inflation that year rose by 10%. Therefore, one bottle of water costs Rs. 11. By the end of the year, with Rs. 105, you will not be able to afford 10 bottles of water anymore.
Mutual Funds provide an ideal investment option to place your savings for a long-term inflation adjusted growth, so that the purchasing power of your hard earned money does not plummet over the years.

The University of Notre Dame

University of Notre Dame is a private institution that was founded in 1842. It has a total undergraduate enrollment of 8,448, its setting is urban, and the campus size is 1,250 acres.niversity of Notre Dame's ranking in the 2016 edition of Best Colleges is National Universities, 18. Its tuition and fees are $47,929 (2015-16).
Notre Dame is located in South Bend, Ind., just 100 miles outside of Chicago. Only freshmen are required to live on campus, but most students choose to remain on campus in one of the 29 single-sex residence halls.

The University of Notre Dame began late on the bitterly cold afternoon of November 26, 1842, when a 28-year-old French priest, Rev. Edward Sorin, C.S.C., and seven companions, all of them members of the recently established Congregation of Holy Cross, took possession of 524 snow-covered acres that the Bishop of Vincennes had given them in the Indiana mission fields.

A man of lively imagination, Father Sorin named his fledgling school in honor of Our Lady, in his native tongue, “L’Université de Notre Dame du Lac” (The University of Our Lady of the Lake). On January 15, 1844, the University was thus officially chartered by the Indiana legislature.

Father Sorin’s indomitable will was best demonstrated in April of 1879 when a disastrous fire destroyed the Main Building, which housed virtually the entire University. Saying “If it were ALL gone, I should not give up,” Father Sorin employed 300 workers daily throughout the summer and rebuilt the structure that still stands today, topped by a gleaming Golden Dome.

It is divided into eight schools and colleges, the largest of which is the College of Arts and Letters. Notre Dame’s graduate and professional programs include the highly ranked Mendoza College of Business and Law School in addition to a well-regarded School of Architecture, which offers undergraduate and graduate programs.

The main campus is located in Notre Dame, Indiana, an unincorporated community in the Michiana area of Northern Indiana, north of South Bend and four miles (6 km) from the Michigan state line.In September 2011, Travel+Leisure listed Notre Dame as having one of the most beautiful college campuses in the United States. Now it lies on 1,250 acres (5.1 km2) just south of the Indiana Toll Road and includes 143 buildings located on quads throughout the campus.
