1) Goal-oriented                                                  

Management is managing people and other resources in the organization for achieving the goals of the organization. All managerial activities are directed in the  accomplishment of goals. The basis goal of management is to maximize efficiency and economic oh human efforts.

2) Group activity
Management can not be done in isolation. It always refers to group efforts.Whenever there is an organized group of people working towards a common goal.

3) Distinct process
Management is required in all types of  organization. The basic principles of management are applicable business as well as in other organizations.

4) Universal activity
It is required all types of organization. Principles are flexible and are modified according to the needs and environment of the organization.

5) An integrating process
The essence of management is integration of human and other resources for effective performance.It integrates men, machines and materials for carrying out the operations for achieving the  goals.

6) Management is a social process
It is a social process because it consists of getting things done through others. This involves dealing with people. Management has a social obligation to make optimum use of scarce rescources for the benefit of the community as a whole.

7) It is both science &art
Management is science because it ha developed certain principles that are of universal application.It is also an art because the result of management depend upon the personal skill of managers.

8) Management is a profession
It has a systematic and specialized body of knowledge ,principles and techniques which can be taught as well as applied in practice.

9) it IS Dynamic
Obviously it is a dynamic function, has to be performed continuously.It operates even in an ever - changing environment.

10) Management is intangible
It is an unseen forces but its result are apparent. It is judge on the basis of the end result althogh operations can not be  observed.
